A characteristic feature of the present automobile production is a continually strengthening demand to replace iron castings with light non-ferrous alloy castings. The present trend is the production of automobiles with fuel consumption as less as possible. It leads to a necessity of reducing the automobile weight to minimum. The chain closes again - for being possible in optimal way to replace iron castings with light non-ferrous alloy castings the foundryman must be able to use the latest technologies and the latest information about development trends have to be available to him.
