摘要

In this article, we have applied the variational iteration method combined with the generalized tanh -coth function method using a generalized wave transformation to obtain the exact traveling wave solutions of the nonlinear generalized KdV equation and the combined KdV Burgers equation with variables coefficients. It is shown that this method provides straight-forward and powerful mathematical tools for solving nonlinear partial differential equations with variable coefficients.
