摘要

Hense and colleagues provided an interesting comparison of weekday sleep duration in children aged 2 to 9 years across 8 European countries and explored factors which influence nocturnal sleep length.1 The authors note that complementary facets of nocturnal sleep such as daytime napping and sleeping habits during weekends could not be considered across the whole study population. Notwithstanding, the study evinced remarkable results as weekday sleep durations in 8,542 children differed significantly within the IDEFICS study. Intriguingly, these findings were not “explicable” by a host of a priori candidate determinants.
