Oligomeric polyaniline (o-PANI) in emeraldine base (EB) form was blended with epoxy resin to form interpenetrating network. The cured film was doped by dipping in an acetic acid solution of p-toluene sulphonic acid. The PANI/epoxy resin composites showed a very low threshold concentration of o-PANI (lower than 1 part o-PANI per 100 parts resin) for electrical conduction. The microstructure of the conductive composites was studied by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).
