For steel making through EAF, some areas are becoming more prone to erosion due to variation in quality of available input metallic & fluxes. By suitable designing & optimizing the concept, down time due to refractory repairs may be shortened. Some are described below: Side-wail near to high oxygen area: Due to high energy demand, steel making is becoming more & more dependent on oxygen.
