摘要

With country s growth, need and demand have changed and quest for better life for its people has changed. For this higher production, distribution and utilization of power and need of energy saving are essential. Use of CRNO electrical steel offers a mean to cut down the wastage of useful power. Rourkela steel Plant took the lead and achieved the distinction of being the first in the country to start production of Electrical steel. Such steels require stringent quality control at every stages of production from steel making to finished coils. Chemistry, hot rolling, cold rolling, final annealing and coating parameter had been established. Insulation coating is applied in the mill to increase the electrical resistance between laminations thereby limiting in-terlaminar eddy current loss. The present paper deals broadly on the technological developments of different type of insulation coating that have taken place in Silicon steel mill over the year at RSP.
