Successful endoscopic management of an entrapped nasogastric tube after a surgical procedure

Unintentional fixation of an naso-gastric tube (NGT) with surgical material occurs occasionally. It hinders tube removal and causes patient discomfort. Here, we present our experience with this complication and the subsequent successful endoscopic management. A 62-year-old man underwent gastric resection, with Billroth II anastomosis, at a regional hospital where he was admitted because of nausea and vomiting. He had a 5-year long history of bulbostenosis. After gastric resection, multiple sutures and a stapler were used to create gastrojejunal anastomosis. The resected material was sent for routine histopathologic examination.
