摘要

The paper deals with the indirect estimation of lead in blood of children staying in critically polluted areas by measuring lead level in drinking water and in air particles. The results were helpful in the prediction of possible impacts on health. It was observed that children population were suffering by lead exposure. They may have anaemia (iron deficiency) through inhibition of haeme synthesis (which is one of the main components of blood) as a result of disturbances in the enzymatic activities at various steps of biochemical synthesis of blood.
