Custom grazer credits whole system approach for his business' success.Steve Kenyon doesn't own any cows, tractors, or harvesting equipment. But because of his year-round jgrazing system he makes a living custom grazing 1,200 head of cattle on 3,500 leased acres near Busby in Alberta, Canada. His methods are not new, Kenyon emphasizes. He uses a combination of intensive cell grazing, dormant season grazing, swath grazing, crop residue grazing, and bale grazing. What makes his operation work, he says,is looking at the whole system and being flexible to change.
