NPO Donix performs a number of works on technological and mathematical support of problems of improvement of quality and resource saving upon production of strips and plates, and has program packages developed in collaboration with CC Spetsmetallprom at its disposal. These programs provide a possibility of automatic design of rolling technology for plate and broad-strip hot rolling mills, Stekkel mills, and casting-rolling units. The basic mathematical models of the rolling process were developed by us in the framework of scientific research activity at DonNIIChermet before 2001. All software can be conditionally divided into two groups: the first one includes program packages for calculation of rolling parameters, process requirements to equipment and technical and economic conditions of its operation (packages Tolstyak, Rassort, and Universal); the second one includes programs for calculation of modes of forced cooling of rolls, rational characteristics of basic equipment of systems of fast controlled cooling (FCC), and for imitation modeling and control of FCC (packages Okhla and Ukolist).
