The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) sponsored a successful workshop in Washington, DC during June 25-26, 2009. The purpose of the workshop was to generate recommendations for ANSI's input to the next version of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) strategic plan for 2011-2015. More than 80 ANSI members and leading US standards professionals with an interest in ISO standards development participated. S. Joe Bhatia, ANSI President and CEO, and Rob Steele, ISO Secretary-General, were in attendance to get first hand the recommendations for the ISO Strategic Plan. The workshop was moderated by Bob Noth, ANSI ISO Council Chairman and Immediate Past ANSI Board Chair. Following is a report of the highlights of the workshop.
