The Potato D.C. Fly-In is an opportunity for members of the potato industry to see how the Leviathan that is the federal government operates from a front row perspective.Sponsored by the National Potato Council (NPC), the Fly-In is an opportunity to spend a day walking the halls of Congress visiting with Republican and Democratic lawmakers in the House and Senate while lobbying for the potato industry.This year's Fly-In, from Monday, Feb. 24 through Thursday, Feb. 27, has the potential of tackling concerns about the lack of a Farm Bill as well as the ongoing debate over the Food Safety Modernization Act and its impact on the potato industry and the never ending fight over the federal budget.
