In the past, China contented itself with bulk production of common-or-garden austenitic grades, but this is no longer the case. Increasingly, Chinese companies are equipping themselves to satisfy surging demand for high-end products for the power generation (including nuclear) and oil & gas industries, thereby reducing its reliance on imports.
