German orders improve, but down on 2012

German stainless steel order income in November, according to provisional figures, was 92,900 tonnes, just 0.8% down on the October level. Average monthly order income for the final quarter of last year (to November) at just over 93,000 tonnes, was therefore significantly higher (+13 to16%) than recorded in the second (80,000 tonnes) and third (82,000 tonnes) quarters. However, it remained over 7% down on the monthly average of 101,000 tonnes recorded in the first quarter of last year.
