Solar thermal energy is used for generating steam at commercial conditions. For Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) the applications vary from live steam useable in combined cycle process supporting a Heat Steam Recovery Generator (HRSG) or even feed the steam water cycle directly through generating saturated steam for oil recovery up to heat recovery for desalination processes.
