It's said a photo is worth a thousand words. For us here at SLT and the other Hatton-Brown publications, photos certainly help tell a story and make our advertisers quite happy.Taking photos for SLT requires a bit of skill, timing and sometimes even luck. We're always looking for a different and creative angle for photographs; it helps set our magazines apart from the competition. You may see us on the job site madly snapping photos, but there is a method to the madness. For the typical SLT story, we have to get the following photos: company owner by himself, crew, and if possible, each piece of logging equipment in use. We may use the owner's photo in several different ways,so we prefer to get this person's photo separate from the rest of the crew and once we have this photo, the owner is relieved of being in the crew shot, though many owners like to stand in with their boys.
