This year's expanded Top 145 Design Firms are ranked by their combined Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico revenue for 2005. Rankings are then broken out by state as well as into various categories such as healthcare, surveying and transportation. The Top 145 reported 1.53 billion dollars in design work for 2005, a large 12.5 percent increase over 2004. This year's boost adds to the 8.7 percent gain last year, and a 16 percent jump in 2003 revenue. Arizona firms reported revenue totaling 874.8 million dollars, a 10 percent increase over last year's numbers, while Nevada jumped almost 13 percent. This year, New Mexico soared to a new high of 213.8 million dollars, an 18.6 percent increase over the previous year.
