摘要

For decades across the South, conversations have started or ended with the weather— good, bad, what we like, what we don't like. Since before the beginning of this calendar year and even now, weather has been more a subject of conversation because ofthe drastic lack of precipitation in parts of the South. As streams dry up and rivers and lakes drop to historic lows, metro and rural areas alike are taking measures to conserve precious water. Twenty-six percent of the Southeast is listed as-being inextreme drought aonditioas, most of this is found in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky and South and North Carolina.
