Britain has always had a strong cavingcommunity and an equally strong cavescience community. Some of us have ourfeet in both camps, but communicationbetween the camps is often poor. Theeditor of Speleology and the editor of Caveand Karst Science (BCRA) have asked meto make an experiment — to describe whatis in our national cave science journal,but in language that sport cavers canunderstand.
