Fengcong, Fenglin, ConeKarst and Tower Karst

摘要

In this long and detailed paper, theauthor proposes that Chinese terminol-ogy should be used to describe two majortypes of tropical karst terrain. Fengcongloosely corresponds to the Western term`cone karst', fenglin to 'tower karst', butthe Chinese terms are more useful asthey have genetic implications. Conesand towers should now be used as purelydescriptive terms.
