摘要

The phenomena of cooperative Jahn-Teller distortion, orbital ordering and spin exchange in magnetic solids were examined in terms of orbital interactions between adjacent spin sites. Cooperative Jahn-Teller distortion and orbital ordering of a magnetic solid occur to minimize the two-electron two-orbital destabilizing interactions between adjacent spin sits. The magnetic structures of cubic perovskites KCuF_3, LaMnO-3 and YVO_3 are well accounted for in terms of the spin exchange interactions associated with their ordered magnetic orbitals.
