Described is a composition for the topical treatment of acne,comprising a synthetic vegetable-derived antimicrobial short chain peptide,salicylic acid and a non-comedogenic,hydrated film-forming copolymer in an aqueous delivery vehicle.The oligopeptide is based on the amino acids,phenylalanine,alanine,leucine and lysine and is present at about 0.01% to 0.2% by weigh of the total composition.
