Health and beauty are reflected via skin and hair. Both are mirrors of how we take care of them and of our overall condition. Sometimes people use their hair as a form of self expression, hinting towards a certain lifestyle, their pride and even their attitudes. Depending on how well their hair is taken care of, it can remain healthy or it can be damaged. The damage results from processes such as colouring, bleaching, permanent waves, unfavourable styling, frequent brushing, blow drying, frequent swirnming in chlorinated water etc. Therefore the most important targets of today's hair care products — such as shampoos, conditioners, colourants and even styling products — are protection and repair. For decades, the success of hair care products containing protein has been known to fulfil these exact requirements (figures 1,2).
