With the growing debate over environment protection and mining, Skillings contacted Mr. Bonner R.Cohen, Senior Policy Analyst (Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow) to share with us his thoughts on how copper mining will affect the environment. He says, rather candidly, "Richly endowed by geology, the United States has enormous resources in oil, gas, and precious metals. Just as the shale revolution is freeing the country from the shackles of foreign oil, it is imperative that we also avail ourselves of the precious metals that, like the oil and gas, lie beneath our feet.
