Turning points - where have they been visible in the foundry sector recently? Before the financial crisis? From today's point of view almost everything that took place before it was something like the "good old days". Things were still improving regarding wind energy. It was treated with optimism. And everyone wanted to be involved - casting rotor hubs, half shafts and the other heavyweight components for the booming wind power sector. This is not so long ago: we are talking about 2007. In casting terms, the wheel of history was reinvented in Sembach near Kaiserslautern, Germany. A completely new foundry concept was launched on a "green field" site. Hand-molded casting has been redefined - and this definition has a name and this, in turn, sets new standards worldwide: HegerFerrit, a new development in a class of its own!
