PDAC Presents 2002 Awards at March Ceremony

The Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) presented its 2002 awards at the Association's Awards Banquet on Monday, March 11 at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto.The Bill Dennis Prospector of the Year Award went to Noranda Inc.'s Matagami exploration team, which includes Michel Allard, Grant Arnold, Gilles Bouchard, Mario Masson, Real Parent, and Gilles Simard. The Noranda team was recognized for its Perseverance, West Perseverance and Equinox discoveries made in 2000 at the Matagami Camp in Quebec. Total tonnage for the three zones is more than 5 million metric tons with a grade of 17.1 percent zinc. The discoveries will significantly extend the life of the Matagami mine.
