摘要

Self-assembly (SA), an important and interesting phenomenon in nature, has been studied for more than half a century.[1] Asone example, the SA of organic molecules on highly ordered pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) and Au (111) surfaces has been observed using scanning tunneling microscopy (STM).[2] Importantly, the highly ordered self-assembled architectures have shown unique properties and applications in electronics,[3] photonics,[4] and sensing.[5] The tailoring of these suprastructures has been realized through the use of external electronic and magnetic forces,[6] organic ligands with different functionalities,[ 7] and complementary DNA strands,[8] as well as through an electrolysis process.[9] In particular, the use of substrates with predesigned patterns[10] or intrinsic lattice properties[11] has been proven to be effective in obtaining selfassembled nanostructures.
