Nodular Dermatofibrosis and Renal Cystadenomas in a Golden Retriever

The syndrome characterized by nodular dermatofibrosis and renal cystadenomas or adenocarci-nomas has been reported only in the German Shepherd breed. The disease progresses slowly and has no known curative treatment. Its features have been well described and were found recently in a Golden Retriever. A 2-year-old intact male Golden Retriever was referred with a lame left hindlimb, with no evidence of museuloskeletal abnormality. The limb exhibited multifocal dermal and subcutaneous nodules, which had first appeared 8 months earlier.
