摘要

Based upon the Stroh-like formalism for coupled stretching-bending analysis of composite laminates, an extended formalism for electro-elastic composite laminates is developed in this paper. The laminates are made up of different layers consisting of fiber-reinforced composites and piezoelectric materials. The material properties of each layer are considered in the two-dimensional state, i.e., plane strain/short circuit or generalized plane stress/open circuit. In this newly developed extended Stroh-like formalism, most of the relations for electro-elastic composite laminates are purposely organized into the forms of the Stroh formalism for two-dimensional problems. Thus, many unsolved problems of electro-elastic composite laminates may be solved directly from their corresponding two-dimensional problems. To illustrate this benefit, the hole problems in the electro-elastic composite laminates are solved analytically in this paper.
