The recent advances in LCD panel refresh rates have created a need for high quality frame rate conversion (FRC). Although the FRC algorithms have been developed and utilized in many applications, these techniques are not mature. In order to achieve the next level of FRC quality, many issues must be addressed. In this paper, we discuss the main issues in most of the existing FRC techniques, and propose some directions and solutions to solve them.
