Development of a Large Bore Type High-T{sub}c Superconducting Magnet -- by Shuji Hahakura,Takeshi Kate, Hidehito Mukai, Kazuya Ohmatsu, Ken-ichi Sate The authors have developed arefrigerator-cooled high-T{sub}c supercenducting magnet composed entirely of Bi-2223 silver-sheathed wire. The magnet features a large bore: the inner diameter of the coil is 400 mm and theroom temperature bore is 280 mm. The magnet was successfully fabricated with a central magneticfield and a maximum field of 0.19 T and 0.82 T, respectively. After examining several operationalpatterns, the authors confirmed the stability of the high-T{sub}c supercenducting magnet both whenit was excited within the operating field for five seconds, and under continuous operation.
