摘要

Austenitic stainless steels are gaining more attention due to their excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical properties both in strength and ductility. The workability of such kind of high valued steels is restricted due to their embrittlement zone in high temperature range from 800 up to 1200 deg C. In order to improve the productivity and yield ratio of steels the hot workability of some selected steel types was studied via Gleeble hot tensile tests. Their embrittled temperature ranges are characterized after experimental tests. Reasons for the poor ductility of tested steels are investigated by metallographic studies via OM and SEM. They are related to the phase transformation of austenitic stainless steels.
