Hong Kong-based Pacific Andes has been aggressive in the Chinese market for years, and like so many other companies, it has been looking to get closer to consumers with a true branded seafood identity. The company is now taking another giant leap toward the consumer by cutting the ribbon on its first retail/cafe concept: Andes Premium Catch. The sleek, trendy, relaxed bar and intimate dining tables surrounded by walls of retail cabinets filled with chilled, frozen and ready-to-eat seafood items ~ isclearly targeting a younger demographic, and not just a Chinese one. At its grand opening in Shanghai earlier this month, the company held a "Fish and Chips" night. A running blog in English is as cutesy and irreverent as any written for boutique stores and cafes in the United States or Europe. And the company's done its social media homework, with a presence on Facebook, Foursquare, Instagram and Weibo.
