About a year ago, Alex Tram decided to give ozone a try. Tram, president and CEO of Western United Fish, a Seattle-based seafood processor, was intrigued by claims ozone is superior to chlorine and other chemicals for disinfecting seafood plants. "It's excellent, phenomenal," Tram said of ozone and its benefits to his products and his company's bottom line. Gone are 1,200 dollar (840 EUR) a-month bills for chemicals to sanitize his fish factory and equipment. Gone is the tell-tale fish smell that permeates fish plants big and small.
