The seafood industry has undergone some seismic changes during the two decades that Seafood International has been published. On the other hand when rereading our very first issue, which was published in February 1986, other things hardly appear to have changed at all. One of the biggest changes to have occurred during the past 20 years has been the increasing contribution to supplies from aquaculture. In 1986, the commercial farming of Atlantic salmon and rainbow trout was starting to take off, andthe early issues of Seafood International were full of advertisements from salmon producers, particularly from Norway.
