A storm on the Riviera, in mid summer? Come on? Well, it does happen. Not often, but sometimes. And for us Kiwis, a great experience. See, we only go to France in their summer. Sure, we are told about the mistral, that terrible wind roaring down the Rhone Valley claiming fishermen's lives for untold centuries. So, what is it? What does it do, and how come, with modern metrology and communications it still catches Mediterranean mariners with their pants down?
