摘要

Objective.-To study the influence of amateur sport on the functional status of patients with lumbar osteoarthritis evaluated during an episode of low back pain (or sciatica).Method and patients.-Cross-sectional observational survey conducted by 3,000 investigators, each including 2 patients with current or previous sporting activity and 1 non-sportsman, between the ages of 30 and 70 years.Statistical analysis compared the repercussions of sport on dimensions of the D.R.A.D. (Dallas) score (daily activities, work, anxiety/depression and social behaviour) (multiple linear regression adjusted for socioeconomic and clinical factors).Results.-2,714 patients were included, comprising 28.2% non-sportsmen, 28.8% who had stopped sport and 43.0% sportsmen.Low back pain affects all dimensions of the Dallas score, but to a significantly greater degree in non-sportsmen or subjects who have stopped sport compared to current sportsmen (p0.000l).Conclusion.-The results of this survey show that sport improves all dimensions of the Dallas score in patients with low back pain.
