Atlantic basin met coal buyers were sanguine given the amount of material available Tuesday, with Australian and Russian suppliers trying to offload tons in the Mediterranean and northern Europe. One Mediterranean buyer said Australian suppliers were offering longterm, volume-based contracts, with indexbased pricing to be decided 45 days before loading.
