Sail, Kobe pact soon for Indian ironmaking 50:50 jv

State-owned Steel Authority of India Ltd (Sail) and Japan's Kobe Steel are to sign a memorandum of agreement (MoA) on July 10 in Japan for their proposed 50:50 joint venture ironmaking project in India based on Kobe's ITmk3 technology, the Indian steel ministry revealed in a statement on Friday. A joint feasibility study, undertaken after the two partners signed an MoU in March 2010, has established the economic viability of the project, the ministry said.
