Australian mining companies are feeling increasingly squeezed by falling coal and iron ore prices and the higher cost of developing projects, leaving a growing number of projects in doubt unless prices improve, a new report shows. Sydney-based Newport Consulting's annual Mining Business Outlook Report found the number of companies planning to invest in major projects had fallen by almost half over the past twelve months to just 25%.
