US bulk ferroalloy prices have been flat over the past week with spot demand subdued by an early start to year-end inventory management by consumers, market participants said Wednesday. Some mills have begun making inquiries for 2013 annual requirements, according to sources. The Platts assessment for high-carbon ferrochrome (65% Cr, 6-8% C, 2% Si max) eased to $0.99-1.02/lb, in-warehouse major US hubs basis, Wednesday, from $1.00-1.03/lb last week.
