Iron ore shipments from Port Hedland in Western Australia fell 13% in September from the month before to reach 19.9 million mt on weaker exports to China, according to Port Hedland Port Authority data released Friday. BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group, Atlas Iron and some smaller iron ore miners together exported 15.1 million mt from the port to China in September, down 9.5% on the 16.7 million mt shipped in August.
