Premium HCC tightened by BMA force majeure

Asia-Pacific coking coal prices were mostly steady Monday despite uncertainty over the supply of premium low-vol hard coking coal, following the declaration of force majeure by producer BHP Billiton Mitsubishi-Alliance last Monday. Premium low-vol HCC prices were assessed marginally higher, gaining 50 cents to 213.50 dollars/mt FOB Australia, while HCC 64% CSR (coke strength after reaction) mid-vol material was unmoved at 186.50 dollars/mt FOB.
