Atlantic coking coal prices steady as Q1 talks heat up

European and Brazilian mills are moving gradually into talks for first-quarter 2013 coking coal tonnages, with spot prices remaining steady Friday and US spot low-vol and high-vol HCC values staying at much the same level for the past few weeks. An Australian supplier source said that talks are now going on in Asia for the January-March period and are expected to conclude the week after next.
