Metallurgical coal prices in the Asia-Pacific region retreated for the fourth straight session Tuesday as fresh premium low-vol supply outstripped lackluster spot demand in the region’s biggest buyer China. Premium low-vol hard coking coal fell 50 cents to $109.75/mt CFR China Tuesday. This netback to $101.25/mt FOB Australia based on Panamax freight. Prices for second-tier mid-vol HCC fell 25 cents to $101.25/mt CFR China.
