Argentina’s Acindar to make 1.6m tonnes in 2011

Argentina longs producer Acindar expects to increase its output this year to reach approximately 1.6m tonnes, almost 100% of its 1.7m t annual capacity, according to company president Arturo Acevedo, Steel Business Briefing learns. The executive states that investments this year, amounting to US$180m, have allowed the company to increase quality as well as capacity. Today, Acindar is at 90% capacity utilization with shipments made to the domestic as well as export market.
