Chilean company Shabu Corp SA's plans for a new mining project in the Atacama region that will buy process and export 1.8m tonnes/year of iron ore concentrate has received environmental approval. The firm tells Steel Business Briefing the $5m project in the north of the country has a 10-year lifespan and will be launched immediately, with ore concentrate from mines in the area processed at a dry magnetic separation plant that will be built by Shabu.
