The highest bid in Wednesday’smonthly auction for Japanese H2 scrap forexport through Tokyo Bay by January 15 wasYen 14,660/mt FAS ($119/mt), the organizersaid, an increase of Yen 160/mt on lastmonth’s winning result.The auction, held by the Kanto Tetsugengroup of ferrous scrap dealers around Tokyo,received 21 bids for a total of 125,000 mtof scrap, with the average at Yen 14,041/mt FAS. The winning bid was for 5,000 mtand was placed by Sangyo Shinko, a traderaffiliated with Nippon Steel & SumitomoMetal Corp, according to sources whoattended the auction.
