Brazilian miner Vale said Friday itexpects in 2016 to produce 20 million mt ofinaugural iron ore from the 90 million mt/yearS11D project in Carajas, northern Brazil, which isset to start up in the second half of 2016, beforeramping up volumes over the next two years.In addition, the miner's southern Brazil mineoperations may add a further 20 million mt ofnew iron ore output, with higher product gradesincreasingly possible due to new concentratorunits and as Vale blends products offshore, PeterPoppinga, executive director of ferrous minerals,told investors at a presentation in London.
