Sesa Goa cuts pig iron output on iron ore shortage: Mukherjee

Indian iron ore miner Sesa Goa Ltd is presently operating its Amona pig iron works, in the southern state of Goa, at half capacity owing to a scarcity of ore supplies, company managing director P.K. Mukherjee told Platts Steel Business Briefing Thursday. Installed capacity at the plant was expanded to 625,000 mt/year in August from 250,000 mt/year previously, making the company the country's largest producer of low-phosphorus pig iron.
